Two Days of Events with Maryse Condé at the marvellous MUCEM in Marseille, France
November 25, 2022 @ 9:00 am - November 26, 2022 @ 11:00 pm UTC+2

25 and 26 november: two days of meetings, readings, shows and concerts, all dedicated to Maryse Condé’s important work at the marvellous MUCEM museum in Marseille, France.
Author of some forty works translated into several languages, and rewarded with numerous awards including the prize of the New Academy of Literature (which replaced in 2018 the Nobel Prize for Literature), Maryse Condé reveals in her work the ravages of colonialism and the thousand facets of the West Indian reality. Maryse Condé is widely considered the Queen of Caribbean Storytelling.
Condé’s latest novels, Waiting for the Waters to Rise and The Wondrous and Tragic Life of Ivan and Ivana, have been published in English by World Editions, translated by Richard Philcox. Her most recent novel, The Gospel According to the New World, will also be published by World Editions, in March 2023.
