Sisonke is one of the most exciting contemporary female black voices in literature, frequently compared to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. A bestselling South African author, she is now based in Australia. She is an accomplished speaker, and her TED Talk “If a story moves you, act on it” has been viewed over 1.3 million times. She is an outspoken political activist, fighting for women’s rights and racial justice. Always Another Country is her memoir about growing up in exile and finally returning home to South Africa after Mandela’s release from prison, and has been endorsed by Graça Machel, Mandela’s widow.
